Rowan Chamber Power in Partnership 2018-19 speaker series!

SALISBURY, NC (August 10, 2018) – The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce excellent speakers for its sixth annual Power in Partnership (PIP) breakfast series.
 
“The Chamber is very excited about the upcoming PIP speaker series,” said Dr. Janet Spriggs, Chair of the Board and COO with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She continued, “We want all our Chamber members to get their Power Cards now so they don’t miss out on any of these fantastic programs.”
 
Josh Ward with the National Association of Manufacturers will kick off the PIP season with a “Salute to Manufacturing” on Thurs., Sept. 20, 7:30 a.m. at Trinity Oaks (728 Klumac Road). Several local manufacturers will be featured as we prepare for National Manufacturing Day plant tours on Fri., Oct. 5.
 
The 2018-19 PIP speakers include:
  • Sept. 20 – Josh Ward, “Salute to Manufacturing”
  • Oct. 18 - Karen Shearer Dunn, “Intergenerational Workforce”
  • Nov. 15 - Frank Emory, Chairman of North Carolina Economic Development Partnership
  • Dec. 13 - Warren Cole Smith, “Inspirational Speaker”, sponsored by the Rowan not-for-profit organizations
  • Jan. 17 - 2019 Economic Outlook Speaker
  • Feb. 21 - State Legislative Breakfast 
  • March 21 - Salute to Agri-business
  • April 18 – Healthcare Speaker, sponsored by Novant Health Rowan Medical Center
  • May 16 - Laura Hamilton, “Why are you Looking for the Wizard”, Leadership Rowan Class #26 Graduation
 
The Chamber’s breakfast series averaged over 150 attendees each month during its last five seasons. The 2018-19 series will bring top notch speakers to the community and provide high level networking opportunities. Sponsors will have the exclusive marketing rights to the banquet room and provide a five minute sponsor profile on their company.   Partner agencies will share updates with the local business leaders and address issues of concern for the entire region.
 
The Leadership Rowan Class will start their day at the breakfast and then venture out for each day’s session focused on a different aspect of the community.   
  
The Chamber’s popular Power Card will once again be offered for those who would like to take advantage of the PIP frequent attender program. Power Card holders receive a discounted price for the series and do not have to make a reservation each month. The cost is $95 for members; $225 for non-members.  
  
Please join us for this upcoming breakfast. If you are not a Power Card holder, individual reservations are welcome; however, the reservation deadline is Tues., Sept. 18 by 5 p.m. The cost is $15 for members and $25 for non-members.
